Anointing of the Sick - February 12, 2022

Persons in the hospital or preparing for a surgery often ask Father for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, but did you know that you can ask for this Sacrament of Healing for other reasons?  Since Covid began, many persons have lingering health conditions (long haulers).  Others are in the midst of medical treatments, have chronic pain, are doctoring for a spectrum of health conditions, or facing chronic depression.  Many of our elders experience the daily frustration of bodies that just don’t seem to cooperate with them anymore.  These are all good reasons to request the Sacrament of the Sick.

February 11, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, is the World Day of Prayer for the Sick.  Because of this Fr. Ron is offering a special healing Mass on Saturday February 12 at 10:00 a.m.  All who would like to be anointed and prayed over are welcome to come.  The Mass time is a bit later than usual so that persons desiring this sacrament will not have to rush as they prepare for church.  Consider offering a ride to someone who would benefit from this opportunity.  Our church is large and provides space for social distancing.  If walking is a challenge, persons can sit in the pews across the front of church, at the break in the pews or at the ends of a row and Father will come to them.
